The Punjab government has decided to provide solar lamps to 8,000 10th grade students of the government schools of Rawalpindi district, if they score more than 55 percent marks in 9th grade annual exams. According to sources, the Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif announced to take the initiative so that students would not be affected by electricity load shedding while studying. The solar lamps were being provided to the bright students of the government schools throughout the province.
It would be much better if Punjab government provide candles to students rather than solar lamps.
