Advisor to Prime Minister on Petroleum and Natural Resources Dr. Asim Hussain said the government has thrashed out a policy guideline on the usage of the compressed natural gas (CNG).
Talking to media after addressing Annual Technical Conference 2012, he said the owners of CNG stations are wailing for their own profit, as they do not care for the public, adding the use of the gas will be restricted to public vehicles and 1000CC private vehicles.
Dr. Asim noted the government attaches high importance to the industrial sector including fertilizers in tandem with the domestic consumers, adding 40 percent of the available gas is being stolen.
Iran will provide 250 million dollars for the Pak-Iran gas pipeline project, the advisor asserted adding an Iranian company will take the gas pipeline to Gwadar and set up a refinery as well.
