Pakistan claims progress in CSF from US

Pakistan and the US agreed upon boosting the security cooperation and the intelligence sharing between Pakistan’s security forces and the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) based in Afghanistan.
Addressing a press conference along with Under Secretary of Defence for Policy USA, Dr James Miller after the conclusion of two-day 21st Pak-US Defence Consultative Group (DCG) meeting, Pakistan’s Secretary Defence, Lt. Gen (r) Asif Yasin Malik said headway has been achieved with regard to Coalition Support Fund (CSF) and the hiccups in this connection will be removed.
The two sides discussed the cross-border infiltration and agreed upon sharing intelligence to put an end to the meddling into Pakistan’s border from Afghan areas.
Pakistan’s stance over the US missile strikes, was clearly presented, Secretary Asif said hoping the DCG meeting will entail good results in the coming days.
Under Secretary James Miller noted the discussed were held in amicable atmosphere in the wake of hard relations between the two countries during last year; however, “the ties are on the mend now.”
Lauding Pakistan’s role on Afghan reconciliation process, Miller said Pakistan and the US will play their role in sync in this connection.
