National Assembly’s Standing Committee for Rules and Regulation and Privileges has sought the documentary evidence from Interior Ministry and FIA on taking Abdul Qadir Gilani, son of former premier Yousaf Raza Gilani, into custody.
The meeting of the standing committee was held at Parliament House on Monday under the chairmanship of Abdul Ghafoor. The committee recorded the statement of MNA Abdul Qadir Gilani on his arrest by FIA. The committee would announce its decision on Wednesday after reviewing the statements of officials of Interior Ministry and investigating officers of the Federal Investigation Agency. The committee also summoned the Ministry of Petroleum secretary and Sui Northern Gas Pipelines managing director at the next meeting on the complaints of several parliamentarians against implementation of development schemes through non-elected people.
