A man has broken the world record for pulling a lorry with his ears. Lasha Pataraia, from Tblisi Georgia, towed a lorry weighing more than eight tonnes for more than 70 feet with a rope tied around his ear. No, we don’t know why, either.
Superhuman ear strength is, as far as we’re aware, a pretty rare physical attribute, but pataraia has it in abundance. The Georgian strongman attached a thin tow rope to his toughened lugs and to the tow point of the lorry, before setting off along the ground, using a ladder for leverage. He made it 21.5 metres before calling it quits, but this was enough to set a new Guinness world record. This wasn’t the first time Pataraia has demonstrated his freakish otic strength. Back in 2007, he used his ear to pull a helicopter weighing nearly eight tonnes for a distance of 26 metres and 30 centimetres. Prior to that, he pulled a van.
“I’m very happy that I’ve set the sixth world record. It took me two months to prepare for this record. I will prepare more and will set more records for the delight of my fans,” said the otic superhero.
Pataraia has previously stated he intends to pull another helicopter, this time weighing in the region of 16 tonnes, using two ears.
