2 policemen killed in Peshawar IED blast

At least two policemen were killed and two others injured when a police mobile van was targeted with an improvised explosive device (IED) on Kohat Road on Monday. Capital City Police Chief Imtiaz Altaf said those killed included sub-inspector Tajamul Khan and constable Ibrar. Per details, unidentified militants planted an IED in a garbage dump along the road at Shahabkhel Badhabher, which was detonated when a police van passed by it. The explosion destroyed the vehicle completely. Officials said two people were killed and three, including a civilian, were injured. Bomb disposal experts declared it a remote controlled explosion. No one has claimed responsibility for the attack so far, but officials suspect the involvement of the Taliban. CCPO Imtiaz said police were being targeted by militants in reaction to their anti-terrorism efforts.
