NA body seeks record of junior Gilani’s arrest

National Assembly’s Standing Committee for Rules & Regulation and Privilege has sought the documentary evidence from Interior Ministry and FIA on taking Abdul Qadir Gilani, son of former premier into custody.
The meeting of standing committee was held at Parliament House here on Monday under the chairmanship of its convener Abdul Ghafoor.
The committee recorded the statement of MNA Abdul Qadir Gilani on his arrest by FIA. The committee would announce its decision on Wednesday after reviewing the statements of officials of Interior Ministry and Investigation Officers of Federal Investigation Agency in this regard.
The committee also called Secretary Ministry of Petroleum and MD Sui Northern Gas Pipelines in the next meeting on the complaints from several parliamentarians against implementation of development schemes through non elected people.
The committee also directed both Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources and SNGPL to withhold the funds allocated for the people, who are not elected representatives.
