Three people, including a doctor and a Frontier Corps soldier, were killed and several others injured in acts of violence across Balochistan on Sunday.
Per details, a doctor was killed by armed men in Jaffarabad district.
Police said the incident occurred in RD 238 area when unidentified armed men shot dead Dr Shamsud Din and escaped. Separately, unidentified armed assailants seriously wounded a man identified as Mahboob in Zarghoonabad area of Quetta by opening indiscriminate fire on him.
He was being shifted to hospital when he succumbed to his injuries.
Meanwhile, a personnel of Frontier Corps Balochistan was killed and three people were injured in landmine and bomb blasts in Dera Murad Jamali tehsil and Kalat district. According to police, a security man was killed in a landmine blast in Dera Murad Jamali tehsil of Naseerabad district, 400 kilometres away from Quetta.
They said unidentified men had laid a landmine in Katro area that exploded when a FC soldier Sher Muhammad stepped on it. He died at a hospital while being administered first aid.
In another incident, two men were injured in a blast in Babu Mohalla area of Kalat district.
Police said the explosives were planted close to the outside the wall of NADRA office in Babu Mohalla near the deputy commissioner’s office. Two passers-by were injured when the bomb exploded.
The NADRA office was also badly damaged in the blast. Also on Sunday, unidentified armed men fired two rockets at a team of workers busy in exploring oil and gas in Soman area of Barkan.
However, no loss of life or damage to property was reported.
