Rawalpindi City District Government has not paid salaries to 182 baildars (groundsmen) for the last 18 months, while their contracts were going to expire on December 5.
According to sources, Employees’ Action Committee Chairman Liaquat and Secretary Riyaz Bhatti said that the Punjab government should set an example of good governance. They said that if employees did not receive their salaries their families would suffer.
They requested the government to pay their salaries and extend their contracts or regularise their services, otherwise they would initiate protest demonstrations from December 7.
