Judiciary ready to face all challenges: CJP

Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry said on Saturday that the judiciary was ready to face any challenge in order to meet people’s expectations.
Addressing a meeting of judicial officers in Karachi, the CJP said that the judiciary had come into limelight because of hard work and dedicated efforts.
He said that impartial dispensation of justice had restored the public’s confidence in judiciary, and more and more litigants were approaching the courts to get justice.
Meanwhile, he welcomed a 16-member delegation of the Hyderabad High Court Bar Association, Dadu district Bar and Larkana Bar at the Supreme Court’s Karachi Registry.
Welcoming the delegation, he said the Bars of Sindh were committed to the rule of law, supremacy of the constitution and independence of the judiciary. He said the legal fraternity had struggled hard in the movement for the restoration of independent judiciary. He said the legal profession was an important one, respected in all societies.
The delegation members discussed the issues of the legal fraternity, and thanked the CJP for taking out time for the meeting. They said the CJP was a ray of hope for the people, and was held in high esteem by the entire nation due to his professional commitment, legal acumen and dedication for the supremacy of the constitution and independence of the judiciary. They also discussed the problems faced by them in their professional field.
The CJP assured them that their problems would be taken up with the authorities concerned. He praised their determination, unity and commitment to the profession. The delegation also invited the CJP to the Hyderabad Bar.
