At least eight people were shot dead in separate incidents at various towns of Karachi on Wednesday. Two doctors who happened to be husband and wife were killed when gunmen opened fire after breaking into their clinic on Abulhasan Ispahani road.
Meanwhile at Quaidabad unidentified gunmen shot dead four MQM (Haqiqi) activists. Sources in police said that the deceased were targeted by armed men who opened fire on their taxi at Mansehra Colony of Landhi. The killers escaped after the crime and police identified the deceased as Qadir Julani, Aleem Uddin, Zafar Qaim Khani and the taxi driver. Locals rushed all four of them to the hospital where they were pronounced dead on arrival by doctors. In a related incident, two unknown gunmen opened fire on a car in the Sachal area of the city in which a married couple connected with MQM-Haqiqi was shot dead. MQM-Haqiqi Chairman Afaq Ahmad condemned the assassinations of his loyalists and vowed that his movement would not die down even if “the enemies” murdered him too. Afaq criticized the law enforcement agencies for “deliberately ignoring” the target killing of political workers. He said that he would continue raising his voice against conspiracies being hatched to damage Islam and Pakistan.
Two people were also shot dead at Hub River Road and Abidabad areas of Baldia town. Business activities were shut down in protest of the killings in Baldia town.
In another incident two armed motorcyclists who were escaping after snatching a women’s purse were chased by the police and after a brief shootout, one robber was arrested with a bullet injury while his accomplice escaped.

Moreover, another robber was arrested after an alleged shootout with police at North Nazimabad in Karachi on Wednesday night. Karachi police claims to have arrested 15 people, including two suspected bank robbers on Thursday. Similarly Gulistan-i-Jauhar police arrested two suspects allegedly involved in a bank robbery. Per details, the suspects had looted a private bank on Karachi’s University Road and managed to flee with Rs 36 million.
