At least three persons died of suffocation and two others were affected as poisonous gas filled a room on Thursday. According to the police, five wood factory labourers from Dhoke Kala Khan had burnt coal in their room to heat it on Wednesday night. Poisonous carbon monoxide fumes produced by the coals accumulated in the room, killing three labourers and affecting two others. Locals and neighbours informed the police and rescue teams about the incident. They rushed to the scene and shifted the bodies and affected people to District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital.
According to hospital sources, the two labourers were in a critical condition.
