Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan announced full support to a call for strike by Sindhi nationalist parties and Pakistan Muslim League-Functional Chief Pir Pagaro against the dual local government system introduced in Sindh. In a statement issued on Thursday, Khan said that his party would never allow a move to divide Sindh and it believed that different systems for rural and urban Sindh was the first step in this regard. “We will continue our support to the nationalist parties of Sindh until and unless the dual local body system is not repealed,” Khan said in his statement.
