Lahore High Court (LHC) Justice Mansoor Ali on Thursday admitted for hearing a petition pertaining to the appointment of chairman of the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).
During the course of the proceedings, the petitioner stated that the government had not published any advertisement for the post and added that the appointment of Farooq Awan had been made on political basis.
He further said that the appointment had not been made on merit which was in violation of law and constitution. Hence, the court should declare the appointment as null and void.
The court accepted the plea after hearing the arguments and sought a reply from federal government till December 17.

    • Just a comment, foreign operators are not scared cows and charge their customers including expatriate Pakistanis at much higher rate. It was especially happening in few Gulf and EU operators who charge them between 15-20 cents for pakistan when their buying cost was only 1.30 cents before 1st October. There was no reaction by none of fellow Pakistanis then. Although they are earning in dollars or riyals and having much high buying capacity still asking to revise the cost
, let the country earn some foreign exchange and don't make foreign carriers rich at the cost of our country.

  3. The majority people have chosen living abroad due to the corrupt extortioners in the system. Why shall they pay for those extortioners. It is very unfortunate we don't have the well and courage to get rid of them and throw them in the hell.
