The Federal Ministry of Capital Administration and Development (CAD) decided to change the heads of three important education supervising institutions, Pakistan Today has learnt. Sources at the ministry said that ministry higher-ups had decided to change the Federal Directorate of Education’s (FDE) Director General (DG), the Special Education DG and National Institute of Science and Technical Education (NISTE) DG. They said that the current FDE DG Dr Shahnaz Riaz would be made the new DG for Directorate of Special Education and Welfare. She would be replaced at FDE by Tajmal Hussain Shah, who will look after the affairs of FDE as an acting DG. There were rumours that officials in the ministry wanted Dr Shahnaz replaced, as they did not enjoy good working relations with her. CAD will also fill more than 300 teaching and non teaching staff positions in the next month. Sources said that Directorate of Social Welfare and Special Education DG Ghayoor Sultana would be given the charge of NISTE to replace DG Sulman Khan, who had been facing inquiries for misuse of power. He had been accused of giving an out-of-way promotion to his Personal Secretary Qazi Shoib.
