Business community should elect honest leaders in general elections: Muneer

Korangi Association of Trade and Industry Chief Patron S.M Muneer painted the economic situation of Pakistan bleakly and hoped that the tables would turn after the general elections scheduled for May.
Muneer was addressing a condolence meeting called to tribute KATI former Vice Chairman, late Yousuf Shaikh on Thursday. He said that Yousuf Shaikh was a prominent industrialist and his services to the trade would be remembered by KATI forever. KATI Chairman Mohammad Zubair Chhaya said that Yousuf Shaikh was an asset to the trade and industry and it KATI hoped to find another man of Yousuf’s stature. He also announced to transfer Yousuf Shaikh’s life membership of the association to his son Shahvez Yousuf. President All Karachi Industrial Alliance (AKIA), Mian Zahid Hussain paid glowing tributes to the departed soul and said that trade and industry was indebted to Yousuf’s services. He appreciated the association for holding a condolence ceremony to eulogize the services of KATI’s former vice chairman Yousuf.
Arts Council President Ahmed Shah, KATI former Chairman Akbar Farooqui, Dr Samiuz Zaman, Prof Ejaz Ahmed Farooqui, Mahmud Ahmed and Yousuf Shaikh’s younger son Shahzeb Yousuf also expressed their sentiments for the departed soul.
Muneer concluded the session by advising the industrialists to not lose heart over reduced revenues due to the ongoing wave of terror in the city. Muneer said that “I hope for better tomorrow(s) and my advice to the business community is to vote in honest representatives in the forthcoming elections if it considers the principles of Yusuf as not futile”.
