Two cops arrested for selling ammunition

The police on Wednesday arrested two cops involved in stealing huge cache of official weapons.
SSP Farrukh Lanjar said besides several mortar shells, 163,000 bullets of Kalashnikov and 18,000 rounds of G3 assault rifle were reported missing from the arms depot in Police Line of Qambar Shahdadkot.
He said the disappearance of the ammunition came to his knowledge after a visit to the depot.
The SSP said two policemen Hidayatullah Mastoi and Ali Raza were arrested in connection with the missing ammunition.
Farrukh Lanjar said a case had been registered against the accused who had been found guilty in selling the rounds and mortar shells.
Taking notice of the incident, Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah has sought a report from the Sindh inspector general police.
Five of a family injured in robbery bid: Five members of a family were injured when robbers opened fire at them during a robbery bid here on Tuesday night. According to police, armed men forced their way into a residential house near Jangal School in Baldia Town area of Karachi and started looting cash and jewellery at gun point. The residents offered resistance upon which robbers opened fire injuring five family members and fled the scene with looted valuables. The injured were shifted to Civil Hospital, where according to hospital sources condition of two injured persons was serious. The police registered a case into the burglary and started the investigations.
