Pakistan People’s Party Central Deputy Secretary Information and Provincial Minister for Information Sharjeel Inam Memon said on Wednesday that the local government law introduced by Musharraf was still working in Punjab.
The Sindh province, he said, was the first province of Pakistan which had amended the local government law made by General Musharraf.
He said this in a statement issued by his department. He said if Nawaz Sharif was so sincere with Sindh, he should call a strike on 30th November in Punjab as well. Nawaz having supported nationalists had proved that he was not sincere with the people of Sindh and he had no pain for the people of Sindh.
He said in other provinces the local bodies law of Musharraf was being implemented while Sindh had made certain changes in the law which would prove beneficial to the people of Sindh and they would be able to use power at the gross-root level.
The provincial minister said: “Nawaz Sharif is still following Pervaiz Musharraf’s law and N-League while having majority in Punjab was unable to bring a new law that shows their political incapability.”
Memon said those who opposing PSLGO 2012 had no concrete arguments to oppose it and just wanted to misguide the people. It was unfortunate that these so-called nationalists were striking in their own province to create problems for their own people, he added.
He said those who earn on daily basis had to face great hurdles and these strikes also created negative impacts on the province and the country as well. The minister said if Sharif had objections on the law in Sindh, he should call a strike in Punjab to show good gesture for the people of Sindh.
