Lahore Rugby Club to take part in Prestigious Dubai Rugby 7s

Lahore Rugby Club left for Dubai to take part in the Prestigious Dubai 7s rugby tournament ,three clubs from ‘Pakistan are taking part besides Lahore , Islamabad Rugby club and Lums University all three clubs have a long trading of attending the rugby 7s tournament. It is an honor for The Local clubs take part in the Invitational tournament in the past Lahore Rams and Islamabad have won silverware and have been taking part in the tournament since 1992. This year’s Lahore rams team will be led by captain Sair Riaz the team this year is Shakeel malik , Umer I butt, Tahir Rafi , Anwar Zafar .Manan Naseem, Doaud gill , Kwawar , Abubaker ,Kahlid, Wakas Ali and Umer This year The tournament is going to be very tough with Very strong teams from New zeland USA and UK in the Same Pool as the Pakistan Teams . The Lahore team will benefit from the Great exposure to international rugby some of the team members got the got by taking part in the Punjab International Sports festival Rugby 7s event were the Pakistan Green secured silver medal against 12 club teams from around the world earlier this month In Lahore. Pakistan Union President Fawzi khawaja commented that “he was encouraged to Clubs from Pakistan Taking part in such international events which will help further raise the level of Rugby In ‘Pakistan” The Emirates Airline Dubai Rugby Sevens Invitation Tournament, it is one of the largest annual international rugby events of the rugby clander. This year event is expected to be the biggest in the tournament’s 43-year history. Almost 100,000 fans are expected to converge on 7he Sevens to watch 16 world-class men’s teams and the top 12 women’s national sides, as well as a record-breaking 175 Invitation teams, battle it out over the three-day festival of rugby.
