Four Taliban mine planters were killed as they came under air attack in Helmand province 555 km south of Kabul on Wednesday, the provincial administration said in a statement released here on Thursday.
“The security forces identified four Taliban militants who were busy in planting mine on a road in Gereshk district on Wednesday to target security forces, and launched air attack, leaving all the four rebels dead on the spot,” the statement said.
Taliban militants who are largely relying on suicide and roadside bombing have yet to make comment.
