Balochistan Chief Minister Aslam Raisani on Tuesday urged the protesting doctors in the province to end their strike and resume duties. Talking to reporters after a surprise visit to Provincial Sandeman Civil Hospital and Combined Military Hospital (CMH), Raisani said to the doctors to “stop humiliating your profession meant for serving humanity”. He said the government had successfully restored emergency services in all hospitals that had been suspended due to the strike. He urged the doctors to call off their “illegal and unlawful” strike without setting any conditions. Raisani said all-out efforts were being made for the recovery of the abducted doctor, Saeed Khan. He said instead of blaming the government and the administration for the present situation, the doctors should blame themselves. During his visit, the chief minister inquired after the patients’ health. He thanked the CMH administration for providing medical facilities to civilian patients in the wake of the doctors’ strike in government hospitals. A complainant told the chief minister that his daughter lost her life due to the doctors’ strike in government hospitals as she was not being treated on time.
