Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leadership on Tuesday dismissed media reports that certain party members were leaving PML-N. PML-N spokesman Senator Pervaiz Rasheed said that the fabricated reports of alleged sidelining of party members like Sumaira Malik, Marvi Memon and Amir Muqam were nothing but a deliberate attempt to create differences in the party. Rasheed claimed that such reports made it seem like certain elements had now opted to spread rumors and resorted to copy Goebbels’ propaganda tactics to achieve nefarious designs, as they were afraid of a humiliating defeat in the upcoming elections.
He further claimed that the story published in an English daily was nothing but yellow journalism, as no source was mentioned to argue the case. Rasheed also noted that the aforementioned party leaders were actively working in their respective party offices and were visiting offices and were in contact with party leadership on a regular basis, which was enough to prove that the news items was fake.
The PML-N leader clarified that the parliamentary board was the sole authority to decide on awarding party tickets to individuals and not a single meeting of the parliamentary board had been held so far. Therefore, he said, there was no question of any discrimination against any probable contestant.
He further said that biased media campaigning would never serve any purpose, as the party was united and it was the most popular political force in the country, adding that it was making inroads throughout the country.
