Senior Provincial Minister for Education and Literacy Pir Mazhar-ul-Haq on Monday said that tests for the posts of 19,000 teachers in education department would be conducted in December.
While offer letters to the successful candidates would be issued next year in January. He said this while talking to media here at his office in a ceremony which marked the award of certificate, shield and cash prize to a 12-year-old student of Bharia School Karsaz, Shaheer Ahmed, who has participated in the art competition organised by the UNESCO. He said our new generation was second to none in talents and the present democratic government was encouraging them at all platforms and trying to improve educational standard in the province, especially in government schools. During FY13, allocation for education amounted to 20 percent of the total provincial budget, he said.
He said the present government was fully committed to enhance education and welcomes health criticism, private and public both sectors can promote education in Sindh.
The minister education said on the directives of Sindh chief minister fake appointments in Shikarpur and Jacobabad had been cancelled and those who were found involved in corruption would be dealt strictly.
He informed that he had visited Kotwali Schools that day and ordered to merge all six schools there under a head according to the consolidated policy of education department.
Present among others on the occasion were dramatist Fatima Suruya Bujya, Shujaat Baig, Principal Captain Tariq Rasheed and others.
