Nations are built with self-esteem, integrity, justice and through strong economic and political structure. A nation is called a NATION when it relies on its own maximum domestic resources. It makes progress with collective struggle and hard work, through which it achieves its goals. On the other hand, leadership also plays a vital role as a leader can change the destiny of a nation. So, the brave, selfless and credible leadership can make a great nation.
Nations are not fed with “aid”. They cannot depend on others. How can it be possible that we are taking money from others and still maintaining our sovereignty and dignity? When someone gives you money, it will control you. There is a beautiful saying: “Aid worse than aids”. Beggars are always made puppet and they compromise on national interest and integrity and the world never gives them respect.
A country like Pakistan is facing lots of problems as there can be seen injustice, no rule of law, corruption, poverty, insecurity, sectarianism, poor economy and weak leadership. The poor policies are only for the elite class, that is way, now, in Pakistan, the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer. The leaders which are elected by the people maintain a luxurious lifestyle while living in a country which is in poor economic condition. And where people die every day due to hunger or target killings.
There are a lot of things which diminish the ray of hope but there a lot of things as well which, if followed properly, can make a difference. Pakistan, no doubt, is fully gifted with minerals and natural resources. There is a geological survey report, according to which, Pakistan’s natural resources land has spread over more than 6 lacs square kilometer. Where there are coal, copper, gold, natural gas, oil, marble, granite, several types of precious rocks and salt.
In Thar, there are world’s 3rd largest coal reserves (175 billon tonnes), which are far more than both Iran and Saudi Arab’s oil reserves. So, we can produce electricity for next 300 years with an average of 1 lac mega watt per annum and similarly we have two thousand trillion cubic feet natural gas as well. A mining company has reported that, in Recodec, there are 13 million onus gold and vast copper reserves, which are worth almost 22 million £ pounds. An Austrian company Tethyan Copper Company (TCC) wanted to invest 3.3 billion $ dollars for this project, but, due to some conflicts, that important project is in the court. If this project starts, Pakistan will enter a progressive era and through which it may attract foreign investment.
Pakistan is world’s No 1 in the production of Ghee, No 2 in cooking oil, beans, cotton yarn and salt, No 3 in cloth production, No 4 in Cotton, rice and apricot, No 5 in milk, No 6 in wheat and date, No 7 in mango, No 8 in orange, No 9 in legitimate meat and sugar and No 12 in the production of cement. Pakistan produces 52 types of fruit as well. It has four seasons, finest fertile agricultural land and top six mountains in the world. Pakistan has got a name in making sports goods. The textile sector which started from zero, now, fulfills 180 million people’s requirements and is acquiring a revenue of almost 14 billons $ dollars.
Pakistan also has a very powerful defense with a strong and large army. It is the 7th nuclear power in the world while the only in the Muslim world. Pakistan has a large number of talented people who prove their talent to the world. They just want a system in Pakistan, a proper system, which might get them all the facilitates to uplift Pakistan as a devolving country.
Pakistan’s biggest asset is 62% resilient youth which can remove atrocity in a society. Education is the key to a society’s development and fortunately, Pakistan has 38.093 million students enrolled in different educational institutions. Suppose, we educate them properly, we can have more population of educated and skilled individuals than those of Canada (34.7 million) and Malaysia (28.3 million).
Now, we shall have to decide either we should go for the same system or we need to change it for building a new Pakistan which is sovereign and independent. Where state and public would have faith in each other. Where the resources might be used properly. Where no one would be above the law. Where education, justice, and security would be at people’s door steps and political and economic structure would be made stronger. This all will happen when we shall change ourselves and this change would finally lead us to an ISLAMIC WELFARE STATE.
