No issue with Punjab govt: Miandad

Director General, Pakistan Cricket Board, Javed Miandad has said that there is no issue between PCB and the Punjab Government and both are collectively working for staging the National T-20 Cricket Tournament in a trend setting manner. “Punjab Government has assured us its fullest cooperation and top security for the participating teams of the T-20 event and we welcome their positive gesture,” he told newsmen here on Monday at Gadaffi Stadium.
He said all the issues between PCB and the Punjab Government have been resolved and now both are in close liaison as far as the staging of national cricket tournament is concerned.
The former Pakistan captain said PCB officials had productive meetings with the concerned departments of the Punjab Government regarding holding the T-20 event and all the preparations are being done with their cooperation for the smooth conduct of the event in Lahore. He said the matches will be played at three ground including Gadaffi stadium, LCCA ground and Bagh-e-Jinnah ground.
“The second match at Gadaffi stadium will be held under lights and rest of the matches will be played in day light.”
He hoped that the T-20 matches will bring back crowds to the grounds specially at Gadaffi stadium, the home of cricket in Pakistan.He said he anticipates full house during second match on each day. “PCB is striving for a the cause of cricket and we are glad that Punjab Government had joined us for making T-20 tournament a big success,” he said.
