On the directives of Executive Health District Officer Dr Zaffar Iqbal Gondal, a health department team raided kitchens of different bakeries and a restaurant and issued fines over poor hygiene.
District Food Inspector (DFI) Abdul Aziz and District Health Officer Dr Ansar Ishaq were part of the team that raided four bakeries and a restaurant in Commercial Market. Samples of edibles were sent to the food testing laboratory and fines were issued over poor hygiene in kitchens.
The team also raided a butcher’s shop on Saidpur Road and removed 25 kg of substandard meat. The butcher was arrested and an FIR was lodged against him.
