The Utmanzai Wazir Jirga expressed severe resentment over prolonged power suspension to North Waziristan and held the administration responsible for the outage following which a ban was imposed on vehicles with government permits in the area. The jirga met at Mirali which is the second largest town in North Waziristan. The participants discussed, in depth, the issue of electricity suspension in the area. The area has not received electricity since November 9th when tribesmen from Bakakhel Wazir blocked transmission in a bid to force the government into accepting their demands. However, the elders and representatives from different clans of the Utmanzai Wazir tribe made it clear that they had no any enmity or intentions of confrontation with the Bakakhel Wazir tribe. They invited the Bakakhel Wazir tribesmen for talks and expressed hope for resolution of any misunderstandings. The participants held political agents responsible for suspension of electricity, which they said resulted in severe hardships for the local tribesmen. The jirga constituted a Lashkar comprising five armed persons from each sub-tribe and clan to implement the ban on running of vehicles and transportation of goods on permits issued by the political administration. The jirga, demanding an immediate change in the administration running the affairs of the area, decided to send delegates to Datakhel and Miranshah to ensure their participation in the drive against the administration.
