Three cops among 5 injured in Mardan grenade attack

At least five people, including three policemen, were injured in a hand grenade attack on a restaurant in Mardan on Monday.
According to TV reports, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Irshad, and Constables Tauseef Shah and Ghani Akbar were having food at a restaurant when unidentified persons hurled a hand grenade at them.
The blast injured the three cops and two civilians. The injured were shifted to a hospital in Peshawar. The condition of the two civilians is stated to be critical. Police have cordoned off the area and is searching for the culprits.
police van attacked: Unknown miscreants, on Monday, attacked a police mobile van with a low intensity bomb near Acheeni check post, however, no casualty was reported.
According to district police, the incident occurred in Sirband area where a van of the Sirband police station was targeted.
The Police rushed to the spot and cordoned off the area. No group, as yet, has claimed responsibility for the attack.
