The Parks and Horticulture Agency (PHA) has started preparation of garden pottery for planting flowers and other decorative plants on Murree Road.
In a bid to make the roads of the garrison city beautiful, PHA plans to grow flowers and other decorative plants at medians of various roads in the city.
On the other hand, citizens said that preparation of cement-made pots for flowers on the roads was a futile practice because grills and pots were demolished repeatedly in the past during protests by enraged protesters on Murree Road.
They feared that public wealth and tax was being spent on useless activity which could be broken in protests and alleged that substandard material was used in the construction of pots.
When contacted, Managing Director, PHA Capt (Retd) Mushtaq Ahmed said quality material is used in pots due to which it could not be smashed, adding that plants removed from Rawal Road have been planted in different parks of the city.
