Baseball team leaves for Chinese Taipei

Pakistan baseball squad left here on Monday for Chinese Taipei to feature in the Asian baseball championship in Taichung City.
The party 15 players and five officials. The team will face off with China in its opening match on November 28.
“It is a tough tournament as Pakistan team will playing against Asian top sides,” said Khawar Shah before the departure of the team.
Pakistan team is well prepared under the coaching of a Korean Coach Hwang Dong Hoon, who has been training the player in Lahore for the last two months, he said.
He said except Philippines all other teams like Japan, Korea, China, and China Taipei are above to Pakistan in ranking and it is a great honour for the country that we are competing in such a high-profile tournament of Asia. “ Pakistan is ranked 5thin Asia due to which is eligible to take part in Asian premier baseball activities ”,he added. In the other matches Pakistan will meet Asian top team Japan on Nov 29 and green shirts next meeting is against Korea on Nov 30. Pakistan will meet the hosts on Dec 1. In the last match, Pakistan will play against Philippines.
The squad: Basit Murtaza (captain), Ahsan Baig, Syed Dur I Hussain, Muhammad Touseef, Muhammad Usman, Zubair Nawaz, Sumair Zawar, Zaheer Bashir, Umair Imdad Bhatti, Usman Azam, Tariq Nadeem, Muhammad Asif Mushtaq, Shaheryar Waseem, Saleem Haider and Usman Shaukat.
