At least five people were killed while more than 70 others injured in a blast that targeted a mourning procession in Commissionary Bazar, Choghlia area of the city.
According to police, the blast was followed by firing.
The explosive material was planted in a shop, police said.
The injured people, including security personnel, were taken to the District Headquarters Hospital for treatment.
Emergency was imposed in the hospitals of D.I.Khan to cope with the situation.
Rescue teams rushed to the blast-hit area while police cordoned off the area.
It is to be mentioned here that curfew was already imposed in the city and phone services were also suspended by government to avoid any terror activity.
On Saturday, at least nine people were killed while more than 30 others injured in a blast that targeted Muharram procession near imambargah situated at Bannu Chowrangi of the city.
The victims of the blast included four children, around 12-16 years of age.
Govt. should reframe their policies regarding mourning procession on the roads. All activities of Shia belonging to Muharram must held within periphery of Imambargah. Such arrangement will also be beneficial to control law and order situation in the country.
