The Ambassador of Norway in Pakistan Cecile Landsverk on Friday called on Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) president, Nawaz Sharif, in Raiwind and discussed matters of mutual interest and bilateral relations.
Speaking on the occasion, Nawaz said that Pakistan had long-standing economic and trade relations with Norway and the help and assistance extended by Norwegian government to the flood affectees of Pakistan in 2010 on humanitarian grounds was highly valued by the Pakistani people. He said there is great scope of further cooperation between Pakistan and Norway in governance, education, health and social sectors. He said that exports of cotton, textile and leather from Pakistan to Norway should be increased.
The Norwegian ambassador informed Nawaz Sharif that Norway had made large investments in telecommunication sector of Pakistan. She said that Norway was the third biggest exporter of gas in the world, fifth in oil and sixth in hydro power.
