The Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) on Thursday condemned the killing of 25 civilians in sectarian violence and called for serious efforts to subdue the “monster of sectarianism”. In a statement, the HRCP said there were no words are strong enough to condemn Wednesday’s killing spree where around 25 innocent Pakistanis lost their lives while performing belief-related rituals. The HRCP further said this incident had put the entire nation to shame. The statement said, “It seems the new breed of religious zealots wanted to tell the D-8 dignitaries all about the mess the Islamic Republic of Pakistan has been turned into.
