Intel Pakistan on Wednesday concluded the Islamic Provincial Science Fair in the run up to the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) which is one of the world’s largest pre-college science competition to be held in Phoenix, Arizona in May next year.
During the Islamabad Science Fair, students from across the province presented their research based projects in the categories of biology, chemistry, computer science, mathematics and physics. More than fifty projects from all over Islamabad competed in the fair.
Winners of the Islamabad provincial science fair would be eligible to compete at the National Science Fair which would be held in Islamabad next year.
The projects presented in the fair would be assessed by a panel of renowned judges and the winners would be eligible to compete at next year’s Intel ISEF which would be held from May 12 to May 17.
At this occasion, Intel Pakistan Country Manager, Naveed Siraj said that the use of technology in education had been instrumental in bringing about a dynamic change in the classrooms. He also said it facilitated acquisition and absorption of knowledge and offered unprecedented opportunities to the youth of the country to bring about a positive change.
The projects displayed at the Islamabad fair had showed us all that the next generation of scientific and technological innovation would be exciting and dynamic.
“I hope the energy these students had exhibited in the disciplines of mathematics and science will inspire yet another generation of innovators, scientists and entrepreneurs who will strive hard to improve our world.”
It is important to mention here that Intel ISEF is the world largest international pre-college science competition which annually provides a forum for more than 1,600 high school students from about 70 countries, regions and territories to showcase their independent research.
