As many as 5,659 total cases of violence against children were recorded in Pakistan from January to October 2012.
Out of total, 943 children were murdered, 1170 were injured, 302 were raped, 204 were trafficked, 410 were married forcibly, 164 fell prey to Karo Kari and 260 went missing. 407 cases of sexual assault, 547 of torture, 323 children committed suicide, 530 kidnapped and 176 vani cases were reported during last 10 months.
These incidents of violence against children were reported in the four provinces of Pakistan. Province-wise division shows that 2597, the highest number of cases, were reported in Punjab, 1574 in Sindh province, 945 in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and 543 in Balochistan.
