The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on Tuesday submitted tax records of real estate tycoon Malik Riaz and Arsalan Iftikhar, son of Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry, to the one-man Suddle Commission.
The commission had ordered the FBR to present records of bank accounts and tax returns of Malik Riaz, Arsalan Iftikhar and Ahmad Khalil. The FBR had requested a time period of 12 days for submission of the said records.
Meanwhile, Arsalan submitted a statement to the commission’s registrar although he was not asked to do so.
In his statement, Arsalan termed all accusations leveled against him by Riaz as baseless. He further said he would appear before the commission whenever summoned. He also submitted his telephone contact and postal address to the commission. Earlier, Riaz had openly stated that he did not have confidence in the Suddle Commission and termed it as unconstitutional. However, he appeared before it on Monday to respond to the contempt notice issued against him.
