Punjab govt invites local investors for Solar Energy sector

The provincial Energy Minister Ch Abdul Ghafoor has said that within the span of three years, energy crisis would be eliminated for goods from country especially from Punjab Province as Punjab Chief Minister Main Shahbaz Sharif has taken this problem on top priority to solve .In this regard, local investors would be given preference to invest in energy sector rather than international lending agencies like World Bank and Asian Development Bank. He expressed these views on the concluding day of two-day seminar on solar energy jointly conducted by Tuwairqi Steel Millis Limited Engineering and world renowned Solar World of Germany here at a local hotel on Tuesday. The minister said that energy crisis brought a devastated disaster in the country where million of people have been rendered jobless while wheel of industry has virtually been halted as federal government did not take interest in solve this serious menace since federal government had delegated powers to provinces after 18th Amendment.
He said that in Nawaz Sharif’s era Indian PM, during his vist to Lahore, asked for the supply of Pakistan’s surplus electricity to India but conversely now Pakistan is begging for electricity from India to keep country’s industry alive. He claimed that changes usually come to happen because of visionary leaders and not by Governors, CMs of PMs slots that it is the blessing of Almighty God that we have now visionary leadership among us.
