Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has directed the recovery of outstanding telephone bills from Islamabad police officers for making telephone calls more than the authorized limit.
Inspector General of Islamabad Police (IGP) Bani Amin Khan, commenting on the matter said that they would comply with the PAC directives and concerned officers would be directed to pay for bills exceeding the approved limit.
Sources said that details presented in committee revealed that Rs3.8 million bills were more than the approved limit in 2005-06 on 40 telephone lines on monthly basis.
The Interior Ministry had waived off some of the additional telephone bills of government offices while some of the amount was still outstanding.
PAC has directed immediate recovery of the outstanding telephone bills from the concerned officers.
