US President Barack Obama Tuesday assigned Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on a mission to de-escalate Middle East situation, amid continuing Israeli aerial attacks on Gaza strip. The State Department Tuesday said Clinton was travelling to Jerusalem, Ramallah, and Cairo from the East Asia Summit in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The chief American diplomat’s visit to Middle East takes place as international efforts to end violence stepped up with the arrival of UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon in Egypt.
