Security beefed up after Karachi blast

The police on Monday further enhanced security in and around all important imambargahs, majalis and important locations in the province in the wake of blast in Karachi.
Police sources said that Punjab IG Police Habib Ur Rehman has ordered intensified patrolling around all important locations especially mosques, imambargahs and churches of big cities.
He has further directed all regional, city and district police officers across the province to remain on high alert and ensure foolproof security and maintain law and order in their respective areas.
The IGP also directed police officers to take effective precautionary measures, especially in crowded public places, to prevent incidents of terrorism and subversion and ordered deployment of plain clothes police where necessary.
Police officers have been further directed to utilise all available resources and their best professional skills to maintain vigil over the activities of suspected persons and dubious elements.
The IG police urged the people to cooperate with the police in this regard, saying that in case they find any unclaimed object or spot any suspicious person or strange activity they should inform the police immediately.
