Religious Affairs Minister Khursheed Shah on Monday repeated his demand for launching a search operation in Karachi to cleanse the port city of illegal weapons. Speaking to reporters in the federal capital, Shah said the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and the Awami National Party (ANP) were in support of a search operation in Karachi, adding that the operation should be launched after taking all stakeholders into confidence. He said that poor law and order situation was not only Karachi’s problem, but a major issue for the entire country. “It is time to save the country instead of politicising each other,” the minister said. He added that the government would take the final decision regarding search operation in Karachi.
