At least five people were killed in two separate improvised explosive device (IED) blasts in North Waziristan Agency and Khyber Agency on Sunday.
The dead included two personnel of security forces.
The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan’s Jundullah group claimed responsibility for the blast.
Per details, an IED targeted a security forces convoy in North Waziristan close to Miralai, killing two soldiers on the spot and leaving seven others injured.
The injured were airlifted to Peshawar and admitted to Combined Military Hospital. Condition of several of them was stated to be in danger.
An armoured personnel carrier was also damaged in the attack.
Soon after the attack, the forces embarked upon a search operation in the area, but so far, no progress report had been made available.
Every Sunday, the administration imposes a curfew in the area in a bid to ensure safe movement of security forces contingents from one place to another.
Separately, three labourers were killed and three wounded in an explosion caused by a roadside bomb in Shin Qamar area of Khyber Agency.
The bomb exploded as the labourers carrying construction material on mules passed by it.
