Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Mian Shahbaz Sharif has directed district administration and secretary implementation to provide funds for the up gradation of 10 municipal dispensaries.
The dispensaries to be upgraded were situated in Taili Mohala, Dhoke Ratta, Dhoke Hassu, Dhoke Matkial, Sarfraz road, Millat Colony, Akal Garh Mor, Mohan Pura, Sarajia Park, and Amar Pura. According to sources, these dispensaries were set to be converted into mini hospitals which would house a fully equipped maternity ward and a labour room.
Sources said that member Provincial Assembly (MPA) Shehryar Riaz complained to the CM about holding back of funds for the up gradation process by the district administration and secretary implementation.
On hearing this, Shahbaz expressed anguish over the attitude of the district administration and secretary implementation and directed them to immediately release the funds for the purpose. It is worth mentioning here that 40% funds were released last year through which construction and repair work was carried out in these dispensaries.
