The second phase of the four-day Raiwind Tablighi Ijtima (religious gathering) ended on a high note on Sunday with long heartfelt prayers in morning of the last day. On the last day of the spiritual gathering in Raiwind, the suburbs of Lahore, thousands of attendees left for their homes after an hour long prayers by an Indian scholar. The second phase of Tablighi Ijtima began on November 15 and lasted till Sunday morning amid strict security measures. Millions of Muslims from different parts of the world and the host country arrived in Raiwind to attend the Ijtima, the second largest congregation in the world. They listened to sermons delivered by religious clerics of the world and said prayers (dua) during a stay. The purpose of the gathering is considered to be the purging of souls and living lives according to Islam.
