The federal capital has become the centre of intense political activities as major political players in Balochistan government have moved to Islamabad after the interim order of the Supreme Court against the provincial government. For the first time in history, the Balochistan cabinet will be holding its meeting in Islamabad today (Monday) instead of Quetta. The PPP provincial leadership has strongly criticised the chief minister’s decision for a cabinet meeting in Islamabad and called it an attempt to pressurise the judiciary. Sadiq Umrani, PPP Balochistan president, has warned Chief Minister Raisani against such manoeuvring, particularly when he had lost the right to rule. Though the agenda of the cabinet meeting was not disclosed, but it is thought that the current crisis would be the main point of discussion in the meeting.
