As many as 3,779 majalis with 836 traditional processions would be held in Rawalpindi under tight security arrangements. Rawalpindi Commissioner Imdad Ullah Bosal said that all arrangements in this regard had been finalized by departments concerned. District Coordination Officers (DCOs) of all districts were directed to complete these arrangements before the start of Muharram. According to details, majalis in Rawalpindi had been divided into three categories, with 208 majalis in category A, 369 in category B and 1200 in category C. Chakwal district would have one majalis in category A and 775 majalis in category C. Attock would have 171 majalis in category A, 40 in category B and 543 in category C. Jhelum would have six majalis in category B and 463 majalis in category C. In Rawalpindi division a total of 171 licensed mourning processions and 836 traditional processions would be carried out from the 1st of Muharram to 30th of Muharram. A total of 64 licensed and 384 traditional mourning processions would be carried out in Rawalpindi district, while 16 licensed and 137 traditional processions would be carried out in Attock district. Around 17 licensed and 225 traditional processions would be carried out in Chakwal district, while 30 licensed and 130 traditional processions would be carried out in Jhelum district. A total of 183 locations had been declared sensitive in Rawalpindi division. Around 83 points fell in category A and 61 in category B for Rawalpinid district, while 17 points in category A and 13 in category B had been declared sensitive in the Attock district. For Chakwal, 21 points in category A and 17 points in category B had been marked sensitive, and 8 points in category A and 9 points in category B had been declared sensitive for Jhelum district. Additional forces would be deployed at all points in these districts. All departments concerned would make coordinated efforts and play a vital role for the peaceful passage of Ashura Muharram.
