Police on Saturday arrested 20 lawbreakers including three drunkards. The Police recovered1915 grams hashish, 32 bottles of liquor, six pistols of 30 bore with 22 rounds, one repeater 12 bore with five rounds, one 9mm pistol with five rounds and other items from the possession of the arrested persons. According to Rawalpindi police spokesperson, city police held three persons namely Suleman, Bilal and Faheem as they were under the influence of alcohol.
Bunni police also held a youngster identified as Abid who was found indulged in one-wheeling. The spokesman further said that City Police Officer (CPO) has issued special directives to all the police officers of the district that an effective strategy should be formulated to control street crime in the city and those found indulged in street crimes should be sent behind the bars.
The CPO said that police patrolling should made be made more effective and solid steps should be taken for the arrest of proclaimed offenders so that the crime rate could be controlled.
