Court dismisses Khan’s plea against Khawaja Asif

The Islamabad Additional District and Sessions Court on Friday dismissed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan’s damages suit against PML-N’s central leader Khawaja Asif saying the petition did not fall in the court’s jurisdiction. The PTI chairman had filed a damages suit of Rs 10 billion against Asif for falsely accusing him and defaming Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital. Additional District and Sessions Judge Sikandar Khan resumed hearing of the plea filed by Salman Akram Raja, counsel for Khan. In the plea, it was stated that Asif had falsely accused the PTI chief of misusing donations for SKMH allegedly in a real estate business abroad. According to the plea, the allegations damaged the reputation of the PTI chairman as well as the hospital.
