A contempt plea was submitted in the Lahore High Court (LHC) against President Asif Ali Zardari after he held a political rally in Malakwal despite the Supreme Court orders.
The petitioner Muneer Ahmed stated that President Zardari is still continuing his political engagements despite the ruling of Supreme Court in Asghar Khan case and LHC’s order on holding of dual office.
He said concerns have raised after the address of the president to a political rally in Malakwal, adding that the president’s political activities will affect the general elections.
The petition has requested the court to formally begin contempt proceedings against President Zardari.
