Commissioner Karachi, Syed Hashim Raza Zaidi said that impediments in the way of Lyari Expressway would be removed to build the remaining part of the expressway whose construction had been halted for the last two years. The commissioner visited the construction site of the signal-free travel facility which would cost the national exchequer Rs 8 billion. Raza Zaidi said that he looked forward to the cooperation of Administrator Karachi, Muhammad Hussain Syed on the matter. Zaidi directed Deputy Commissioner West, Ghanwar Ali leghari, and Deputy Commissioner Central, Dr Saif ur Rehman, to ensure removal of impediments, and handling over the project to the NHA. The commissioner was optimistic that the 5.3 km project would be completed before February 2013.
